In his work Film of Light, Tao attempts to create a virtual world for his viewers. Staged in the darkness, powerful beams of light shine upon the particles suspended in the air. The light spreads solitarily through the room, creating separate planes of light and producing a series of seemingly real walls, a space reminiscent of a kaleidoscope’s interior. Visitors walk into the space, into these mystic walls of light. In this strange and virtual world, their bodies easily pass through the walls while simultaneously the walls pass through their bodies. In this ever-changing, kaleidoscopic experience of light, new dimensions of light and space are created
