China. The white flag completely loses its symbolic value and goes back to being just another
industrial product. By imagining it as a consumer item to be sold on the market,
the project looks at the natural optimisation process applied by the rules of production.
What emerges is a classic flat pack containing all the components of a flag/product.
Ready to be shipped and distributed. The project examines the need to stop and think
about the way things are produced. It asks if a better form of consumption is the
responsibility of designers and their ability to create meaningful relationships with
the world of industry.
A dialogue needs to be established between craftsmanship and the digital world,
between design and industry, between the ephemeral and the permanent.
