Tomojiro Obara (then, 61) was exposed about 1,000 meters from the hypocenter at Eno-machi, and was trapped under his fallen house. The next day, he put this flag on top of the safe still standing in the ruins of his house. The flag carried his hopes for reconstruction. About a week after the bombing, Tomojiro took to his bed. He died on September 1 at his place of refuge in Mitaki.
