Not all toys are manufactured by toy makers. Everyone has a memory of stealing Dad's flashlight and making it toy--for casting shadow puppets, for telling scary stories in the dark, and for annoying little sisters by shining the light directly in her eyes. And almost everyone remembers the moment Dad discovered that his flashlight--"I just put new batteries in this yesterday"--didn't work. The Playskool toy company manufactured this flashlight for play, to encourage kid creativity and, no doubt, to keep familial harmony.
