Fleet of the shipowners Mir & Co.

Mir & Co. were Barcelona shipowners who owned the brigantine schooners Alfredo (1,068 tn) and Lorenzo; Sebastiana (639 tn); Vilasar (798 tn), Xala (172 tn); and the brigantines Pisogas and Ataulfo. In this painting, Josep Mongay depicts four of the shipowners’ vessels, as well as providing us with documental information on the company by adding the names of the ships to the pennant on the foremast.
