Florence J. Smith (1856-1925) was the sister of Hamilton Sutton Smith. She lived in Washington, D.C. and was a teacher and school principal for forty years. Florence was remembered by her neice Julia as "the joiner of the family" because she was active in Saint Luke's Church, Women's Guild, the YWCA, and the Eastern Star and other organizations.
