Yongin-si, South Korea

The cup and stand are Banjan (liquor cup with prop) made of celadon; they used to be made of gold and silver during the Goryeo dynasty. These are in the form of a flower. The patterns made on the surface portray fish in a pond; the prop in the middle and the cup itself depict a lotus flower. Thus, the entire set symbolizes a pond. This one is presumed to have been made in a kiln in Sadang-ri Daegu-myeon, Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do.
