Warrior is a vector graphics game from 1979. It was designed by Cinematronics programmer Tim Skelly, but released under their subsidiary Vectorbeam. After Larry Rosenthal, the inventor of vector graphics, had left Cinematronics, Skelly was left with the programming duties at the company. With little experience programming video games, Skelly managed to produce several games using vector graphics and pull Cinematronics out of near ruin. Warrior is notable for being one of the earliest one-on-one arcade fighting games. The two-player game set two sword-fighting knights against an artful backdrop of spiraling stairs and deadly pits. The beauty of the background and the cabinet art set Warrior apart from other video arcade games of the time.
