Fossil of Katydid

There are a total of 10,076 katydid species of 1,227 genera from 20 subfamilies known in the world, among which 612 species of 143 genera from 11 subfamilies live in China. Males use their own unique voices to find their spouses and attract the females to mate. Katydid is good at jumping and not easy to catch. Sometimes when one of its legs is caught, it will abandon this leg without any hesitation to escape. This fossil clearly shows the legs of an ancient katydid.
