Fox and Cat among the Fowl

The
  paint is applied here with thin, overlapping brushstrokes and the artist has
  favoured the use of clean colours. The
  canvas probably belonged to a series of several works, together with Farmyard Animals: Cockerel, Two Hens and
  Seven Chicks, also exhibited in the Pinacoteca del Castello.
  Here, the artist contrasts the two animals - the cat and the
  fox – from Flemish models, in particular from the painter Jan Fyt.
