Crucibles and moulds are evidence of local metal crafts. In metal casting, scrap metals were primarily recycled. The metal (documented are brass, but also silver) was chopped into small pieces and melted down. The crucible was then fetched from the fire with crucible tongs and the melted metal was poured directly into the mould. Due to the enormous heat, the fragments are partially glazed.
