Frank Gehry

Marqués de Riscal is La Rioja’s oldest and most traditional winery. In 1998, Marqués de Riscal pioneered the idea of combining production and leisure spaces, taking the first step towards creating the City of Wine. Its objective was to allow people to get to know the history, culture, and philosophy of wine, as well as the wine itself. The backbone of the complex, located in its interior, is the hotel designed by Frank Owen Gehry.

Gehry is a Canadian architect based in the USA. Winner of the Pritzker Prize, he is known for his use of innovative and unusual forms in the buildings he designs.
