The city is the largest human artefact. This artefact is formed by multiple cities. The content of these cities derive from their socio-economic politics. These cities emerge in a particular form and these forms are articulated by the history of their city’s architecture. Every city is therefore a HyperCity made out of HyperArchitecture.
The HyperCity Sculpture represents the architecture of the hypercity of Frankfurt. The size of the sculpture represents the largest real estate project currently built as a single structure. The model is scaled in 1/100 and it consists of the following HyperCityArchitecture.
1) THE POLITICAL CITY:
The Political City is the city of the Middle Ages. Its architectural form is the WALL.
2) THE CAPITALIST CITY:
The Capitalist City is the City of the 19th century. Its architectural form is the GRID.
3) THE SOCIAL-DEMOCRATIC CITY:
The Social- Democratic City is the city of the 1920’s. Its architectural form is the SLAB.
4) THE WELFARE-STATE CITY:
The Welfare-State City is the city after WW2. Its architectural form is the MEGAFORM.
5) THE NEO-LIBERAL CITY:
The Neo-liberal City is the city of the 1980’s. Its architectural form is the TOWER in the Park.
6) THE FINANCIAL-CAPITALIST CITY:
The Financial-Capitalist City is the city of globalisation. Its architectural form is the build MOUNTAIN.
7) THE NON-HUMAN CITY:
The Non-Human City is the City of hyper-objects. Its architectural form is the CONTAINER
