Varakhsha is a part of an ancient settlement, on the territory of which was the residence of the Bukhar Khudahs, who ruled in the Bukhara oasis before the Arab conquest. Varakhsha was an important military outpost on the Western border of the oasis, and was also a significant political center. Archaeological excavations of Varakhsha began in 1937 and were continued in 1947-1953 by archaeologist Shishkin. A complete and complex restoration will be carried out over the exhibit.
