Family departing after leaving their just deceased relative on this forest to be. This is part of an initiative of Colombia Reserva Ambiental, an NGO trying to recover the paramo of Guerrero, a special Andean ecosystem located 3.400 m above sea level that is being exploited and contaminated by uncontrolled mining. This unique environment hosts one of the most important water sources for the capital (Bogota): the water body of Neusa. 7.000 trees have been planted all over the wet misty mountains; in the midst of the COVID19 pandemic, religious traditional burials of bodies have been prohibited, so ashes are being buried as a ceremonial act to motivate people to grow a tree and name it as the loved one they've lost to this merciless disease.
