The Four Rotations with the Sun photograph is part of the Camera Idleness series – a collection of black-and-white photographs made by Marek Noniewicz, based on the contact printing technique. Each of the photos features an image of the artist himself. In this particular case, it is a vague and fuzzy self-portrait of the photographer, as if the object moved when the picture was taken. The face is veiled in dusk and its features are unclear, which contrasts with the streaks of brightness that travel left and right from it. The four marks located on each side of the photograph were created by light and resulted from camera movements around its axis. [N. Cieślak]
