- About the series: Tasua and Ashura in Western Iran: Every year Khorramabad and Lorestan, in the west of Iran, have a ceremony for two days to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hossein. Hashem has attempted to capture the various rituals and ceremonies in this series of photographs.
- About the Photographer: Hashem Shakeri, b. 1988, Iran, began working as a professional photographer in 2006 on an array of commissions and personal projects such as cooperating with Ministry of City Tehran for its photo department, the Fabrica Store in Italy, and Fars News Agency. Hashem has won more than 10 prizes and taken part in fifty festivals, both national and international. He has also been holding solo photography exhibitions.
