This cylinder with a red dot contains two type specimens from a Serranid (Sea bass) species collected in Japan by Philipp von Siebold. This particular species was described in 1843 by Coenraad Jacob Temminck and Hermann Schlegel respectively.the first and second Director of the National Museum of Natural History in Leiden.
