The front view of Krom Phra Rajawang Bovorn Sathan Mongkol, or the Front Palace, from Sanam Luang park during the reign of King Rama 5. During this time, the role of the Front Palace had already been diminished. Rama 5, or King Chulalongkorn, constructed Sanam Luang Park in two phases, the second phase in which the outer court of the Front Palace was demolished. The aspects of the Outer Court which were demolished in this photo include the High Pavilion, and the horse and elephant stables.
