Microphone and camera point of view of Funakoshi Oshima, #tabushima point. Funakosi-Ohshima, Yamada town, Iwate prefecture. It is an uninhabited island registered as a natural monument as the northern limit of the Tabunoki (Machilus thunbergii) tree, also known as "Tabu no Oshima". It is also known as a breeding and nesting site for OOmizunagidori, Streaked Shearwater ( Calonectris leucomelas . A stereo microphone and camera are installed at the nesting site, about 50m above sea level. In 2018, the island was upgraded with a Wimax The system is now back up and running. The left microphone is placed in the nest hole of the Great Blue Heron so that we can hear what is going on in the nest and when the chicks hatch.
