The Royal Factories of Riópar, were created in 1773 by an Austrian engineer named Juan Jorge Graubner with the support of the monarch Carlos III who granted him a series of privileges (the use of calamine mines, forest resources and the use of water as energy use). Thus were the first factories in Spain and the second in the world in the elaboration and production of bronze and brass objects.
