Photograph of the main display and sales pavilion at the Fábrica de Faianças das Caldas da Rainha, where the product exhibition room and the pottery and modelling workshops were located. The building, formed of a central raised body with a roof of Oriental inspiration and two side bodies on the ground floor, was designed by Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro and built with materials produced at the factory, with the pavilion and park area dating from 1885. The architectural project and the decoration of the façade were original for their form, polychrome nature and the textures employed. Adorned with tiles, ceramic ornaments and figurative panels, on the central body, two large faïence panels with pink marsh-mallows stood out and, between them, in a circular frame, a snake wrapped around the factory’s monogram.
