Galen is the first 3D printer capable of printing a pharmaceutical capsule that can contain different active ingredients organized by volumes. The process on which it is based is a controlled release encapsulation technology of the active ingredients. The Galen system could be applied to different sectors, from medicine to agriculture and food. In the medical field, Galen would allow a greater control of therapy not only from a biochemical point of view but also from a physical point of view, therefore a personalization of the care and ability to absorb the active ingredients in a specific time.
