The Marathon Tinker game represents a novel product of the Toy Tinkers company, original makers of Tinkertoy building sets. The company, founded by Charles Pajeau and Robert Petit, began making its Tinkertoys in 1914; other toys followed in ensuing years including dolls, rattles, building blocks, and flying toys. The company also offered a variety of games like Marathon Tinker, a race game involving two figures attached to a platform by metal rods. By manipulating the rods, players could advance their game figures to the finish line.
