National Museum - New Delhi
New Delhi , India

Ganesha, the elephant-headed god, is also known as the remover of obstacles. Seated here on a pitha shaped as a cylindrical bolster, he is in ardhaparyankasana with his legs folded. His two consorts, Siddhi and Riddhi, are standing to his right and left respectively. In his hands he is holding a radish, a bowl of sweetmeat, a battle-axe and a lotus. It is to be noted that both the tusks are intact and in place. On the pitha are kneeling donor couples and his charge, the mouse.
