Choreographer: Marco Goecke

The creations by German choreographer Marco Goecke are sensational, unique, and innovative. He is the master of the dark atmosphere, the power of suggestion, magic and absurdism. He knows how to enthrall his audience with every new ballet he presents. 'Garbo Laughs' is the choreographer’s second creation for Nederlands Dans Theater. Under an ominous, clouded sky, Goecke paints his mysterious world of black birds and spinning dancers maneuvered by an insane puppet doctor in invisible strings. 'Garbo Laughs' received a nomination in 2012 for the Dutch Swan ‘most impressive dance production’.
