Lisboa, Portugal

Object used during pilgrimages whose content is enriched with precious elements such as: land from a sacred place, fiber or piece of referenced monk's attire, photograph of the Dalai Lama, among others. The gau is worn around the neck, suspended by a cotton strap. The cap represents the Tibetan deity citipati, a couple of skeletons who dance frantically, remembering the brevity and impermanence of life.
