An image of Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens from 'Views of Some of the Most celebrated by-gone Pleasure Gardens of London', engraved by A Carse after a 1754 painting by S Wale and published by H.A.Rogers in 1896. The renown pleasure gardens closed after more than 150 years on 25th July 1859 after a 7-day 'farewell' featuring fireworks, concerts and supper, organised by Mr G Stevens.
