Gennai Porcelain Plate with world map design

This Gennai porcelain plate is known for its distinctive pattern and hue, and was made by the scientist Hiraga Gennai, who was active during the mid-Edo period. His kiln was in what is now the modern-day area of Shido in Sanuki-shi, Kagawa Prefecture.
