George Hayter - Portrait of George Bridgeman, 2nd Earl of Bradford

The Second Earl of Bradford, who undertook a Grand Tour as young man - collecting further pictures which remain in the collection at Weston Park - was responsible for the urban development of the family's estates at Bolton, Lancashire and Walsall, Staffordshire. At Weston, he continued to emply the landscape gardener John Webb in making improvements to the Park, combining drainage operatons with the creation of the sinuous lake, Park Pool, to the south of the House
