In 1923, it was still necessary to avoid invoking financial regulations when procuring the earliest transmitters. From 1924, however, the Reichspost financed further expansion of the station, and by 1927 it had a network with 9 main and 14 intermediate or secondary transmitters in operation. The latter of these boosted the program signal from the main stations to achieve better coverage. From 1925, the existing systems were continuously upgraded, so that at the beginning of 1928, the network of transmitters seen on this map emerged.
