Movie Wagon

Layar Tancap is traditional open air movie screening. The Layar tancap not only created people’s specific cinematic experience, but also took part as some sort of social interaction event. But now the Layar Tancap has become extinct since the profileration of indoor cinemas, movie distribution monopoly in Indonesia and the emergence of private TV stations. Gerobak Bioskop (The Movie Wagon) as an independent media distribution project was inspired by the spirit of Layar Tancap, in the hope of bringing back the movie watching spirit as a social interaction event that could be held independently in many other places.
