Lai often uses photos as a point of reference for her creations. "Glacier (Time series)" is a set of two oil paintings created using fine and exquisite brushstrokes and low contrast colours. A specific moment in the life of a melting glacier and a mood of tranquillity are both captured in this work. It not only depicts the natural beauty of the glacier, but arouses attention about the problem of global warming.
