Glass

The blue cup of the stem glass has the form of a shallow bowl. The stem is decorated with wings. In the first half of the 16th century, only the stem would be decorated; at the beginning the decorations were of blue and later of varicoloured glass. In the second half of the 16th century the decoration of the bowl itself with three-dimensional decoration became common. The meticulously worked and dignified decoration tells of the exceptional skill of the Murano master glassmakers.
