This globe was made by Ibrahm b. Sa'id al-Sahli, an Andalusian astronomer who worked in the court of Toledo and Valencia in 1081. In these celestial globes the positions of the stars in relation to the ecliptic are observed. In this globe are represented approximately 1004 stars, grouped around 47 constellations, according to the system of Almagest of Ptolemy.
