These haze-tsubo trap pots were set in the sea for goby fish. Goby fish look for rock crevices to spawn in, and these cleverly designed pots mimic their preferred environment. Though they resemble octopus trap pots, haze-tsubo have two openings that look a bit like a pair of glasses.
Selected as a National Significant Tangible Folk Culture Asset.
Found in Tamano City,Okayama Prefecture.
