According to the management note of the Tachibana family, this triptych of hanging scrolls was a gift for the celebration of the 14th Tachibana Tomoharu’s 60th birthday in 1917. Jurojin is a god of longevity so that it is a suitable present for the 60th birthday.
The painter, Gyokudo, was good at landscape painting. In this painting, he depicts the enchanted land full of mysterious profundity.
