This is a pair of golden bird’s feet. One of them was found in the jar which was laid on the right side of the deceased and the other pair was laid outside the jar. It seemed that the feet pair was actually put near the head of the deceased but later they were scattered all around the body. Like a crane’s feet, there is a winding part in the middle of the feet. Made of pure gold, there is a hole which seems to support the wooden made body of the bird. Birds are believed to bring the soul of the deceased to heaven, so it is not unusual to find the bird orbird-related artefacts in ancient tombs in the Korean Peninsula.
