Plain gold cigarette box in an art deco style with silver accents and a green stone (jade) decoration. Inscribed on lid: "To / President Roosevelt. / Wishing you a Merry Christmas and / a Happy and Successful New Year. / Peter R. (facsimile signature) / London, 1942." Maker's mark for A. & Co. Ltd. below inscription, followed by several jeweler's punches, including "9" another "575" and "A" within a circle. Bottom section of box is lined in wood. Underside is leather, with a number etched into it "1440/36." Presented to FDR on December 25, 1942, by King Peter of Yugoslavia. FDR Library Museum Collection, MO 1944.2.3.
