In 2012 the Art Museum RIGA BOURSE acquired a new, permanent and internationally renowned highlight – the artwork Gondola by the world-famous Russian artist Dmitry Gutov. The 19th century building of the Art Museum RIGA BOURSE is inspired by Venetian Renaissance palazzo style architecture and Dmitry Gutov has used a real Venetian gondola in creation of his artwork. Gutov's 12-metre Gondola is a frozen explosion of Venetian gondola – spatial, yet linearly clear message just like all other works by the prominent artist. It has nothing superfluous; its form is clear because there is clarity in the artist's mind. It is the artist's cosmos – an orderly world of culture born from the chaos of the explosion.

The artwork Gondola is a gift to The Art Museum RIGA BOURSE from The Boris and Ināra Teterev Foundation.
