SUPPORT silk ikat (mat mii) from Na Pho district, Buriram province, northeastern Thailand; bead, rhinestone, and silk thread embroidery by House of Lesage, Paris.
Her Majesty wore this dress in Private Dinner, Bangkok, 12 August 1979. The elaborate embroidery adorning this gown’s draped collar was created by Lesage. They have specialized in custom hand embroidery for top Paris couture houses since 1924. This famous workshop was responsible for the embroidery on the majority of Her Majesty’s French-made clothes. Her Majesty wore this dress when she received an award from the Royal Thai Navy and also for portrait photographs taken that same year.
