People wanted to be able to listen to music anytime and anywhere—especially in the music-loving 1920s. Record sleeves illustrated the many possibilities offered by the portable suitcase gramophone. Kristall-Schallplatten GmbH is a subsidiary of Carl Lindström AG, one of the largest record producers in Europe. In 1926, the company became part of the British firm Columbia and benefited from its rights to the newly developed electrical recording process for records.
