Grape

This is a painting of grapes painted by Choi Seok-hwan. Choi is a relatively unknown artist and no record has been found so far, but it is believed that he lived in Impi, Jeolla Province. Eight scrolls describe a grape vine and its root and people can feel the power and speed of the rising grape. Apart from the powerful expressions of the grape as a whole, detailed descriptions of each branch is another characteristic of this painting. Grape design is used for expressing the desire of having many children.
