Sometimes called the Tiger of the Sky, the Great Horned Owl is the largest owl native to the Southeast and a fierce hunter to boot, Watch out when they are protecting their nest. Keepers at Carolina Raptor Center often don hardhats when they go in to feed or care for the Great Horned Owls in our collection.
