The majority of green turtle nesting in the Southwest Atlantic occurs on 3 Brazilian oceanic islands: Trindade Island/ES, the Rocas Atoll/RN and the Fernando de Noronha Archipelago/PE. Sporadic nesting has also been reported in Espírito Santo, Sergipe and Rio Grande do Norte.
