The parish Church of St Helen dates to the 11th century. Additions and alterations were made in the 13th, late 14th and early 16th centuries, and between 1873 and 1876 it was restored and altered by GF Bodley for Canon Frederick Sutton. The nave, aisles and chancel are decorated with shields, pinnacles, gargoyles and grotesques.
