The word halva comes from the Arabic word “hulviyyat”. At the same time, “halva” is synonymous with the word “sweet” in Arabic. It was known that in addition to eight separate sections of the unique kitchen in Topkapı Palace, there were also two halva houses.

In the photos, you can see two items from our halva box collection that we promised to share in our previous post.

Güneş Tahini Halva Tin Box, in two different forms. Güneş tahini halva, presented to its customers as a special product of the tahini, jam and confectionery factory of its time. Two beautiful nostalgic 20th century materials presenting the tin box samples from our deep-rooted halva culture.
