A hamam dasta is also used to crush tobacco by the women to smoke bidi (rolled cigarettes). Such mortar and pestle are used only for the purpose and not for use in the kitchen. The ones used for spices would be kept separate. This hamam dasta was brought from the local market around thirty years ago.
