On the Fischbeker Heide (Fischbek Heath), many graves from the Stone, Bronze, and Iron Ages can be seen to this day. The stab-and-drag ornamented mug comes from a Stone Age Megalithic grave. However, the mug was probably not a grave good for the deceased, but rather was used by the mourners during the funeral banquet and afterwards left behind at the grave. The mug re-obtained its original shape only through restoration work which replaced missing pieces with plaster.
