Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Silver adornment for hand formed by five rings attached to pendants that connect to a central ornament in a circular shape; hook clasp bracelet; every piece features cast work with pendant spherical trinkets.
This adornment known as Harthpool (hand of flowers in English, or Pachangala, which means jewel for the five fingers) is traditionally worn by brides on their wedding day. This piece is made with “rings” for the five fingers of the hand, each representing the forces and energies that the woman will use to defend the family that she is about to form.
